Today the girls and I checked out the weekly market in Overijse, which is the town where we live. I couldn't believe it. Once a week they shut down a long narrow street and vendors come and sell their goods. They had everything!!! The street is probably 2 blocks long and most of the items for sale were food related; fish, meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit, candy and bread. The other vendors sold household goods like kitchen utensils or clothing. All the vendors had trucks with one side that would open so they could set up a portable store, like a deli on wheels. Our favorite stand was the one roasting chickens and every other meat imaginable. We bought chicken and turkey along with lots of vegetables and fruit. It was really crowded and you could tell which stands were the most popular. We will take pictures next week. It is something very common around here. Tomorrow, the same show will be set up in the next town. We had so much fun, we might go back again!
