If you think last weekend was busy...
This weekend we will greet Uncle Jim and Aunt Cindy as they arrive from Chicago. Maria is on the Belgian coast studying with her Bio class. The twins have two volleyball games in Frankfurt, Germany, and we are going on an overnight to watch them play. We'll take in the sights in Frankfurt and then tour Grande Place in Brussels on Sunday. Then on Monday the kids will be back in school, Bob will be off on a quick trip to the US and Jim and Cindy will be on their way to Paris. And me? It looks like I might have time to play golf!!

A Busy Life = Fun!
Now it really feels like school has started. As the sun rose on Saturday, everyone was off in a hurry with things to do! The twins had a rigorous volleyball clinic then another team practice on Sunday. When they play Leah is tuff and Jennifer is accurate. Maria wrote a 1,000 word essay and studied for a variety of other subjects. She even cleaned her room!! Bob dismantled a piece of exercise equipment and moved it from a friend's house to ours. I said my final goodbyes to those friends as they moved very far away to China. I took 9 kids, HS Seniors and 6th graders, to the Overijse Pool/Waterpark which we have nicknamed the Death Slide. On Saturday Bob played golf with his favorite partner (not me!). And then finally on Sunday, we both played a round of best ball golf with our favorite friends. The sun set on our very busy weekend at 8:30 as the last golf ball rolled into the cup.

Spiders and BBQ
The spider on the right currently hangs around outside Leah's bedroom window. You can even see the web in the picture. In these two photos, Leah's spider, who we lovingly call Miss Spider, was being attacked by an intruder. Rest assured, she held her own and wouldn't let anyone frighten Miss Spider away.
Maria (and her friend!) manning the Face Painting area at the Welcome Back BBQ at ISB on Sunday.
600 people attended. We served free beer, chicken legs and burgers and had fun on games like a bungee basketball and a monkey bounce house. The weather was perfect with sun, no clouds and a high of 78 degrees. Bob manned the beer tent all afternoon while the kids had tons of fun. A friend of mine and I were in charge but the event practically ran itself. But still, we were exhausted by the time the last party goers left. (45 minutes after the actual ending time!) This is one of those jobs I said "yes" to before I actually knew what it entailed!
