Be careful what you wish for...

Last Friday I asked Bob to hang to the toilet paper holder in the half bath.  It was painted before we moved back to the US but the toilet paper holder never got hung up.  This is how our conversation went:
Me:  Bob could you please rehang the toilet paper holder?
Bob:  Sure.  Are you tired of searching for the toilet paper on the floor?
Me:  Yes.
Bob: Do you want a new light fixture and sink?
Me:  No.  The one we have is fine.
Bob: Are you sure?
Me:  Yes.
The next day I came home to find the toilet, sink and light fixture in the garage.  Bob and his dad were installing can lights and plans were being set to paint again.

Now, if you know Bob, you know that he is VERY handy.  He can do anything.  One time, 13 years ago at 2am, I said, "I hate this bathroom.  I run into the door in the middle of every night!"  Within a day he had drawn plans for a completely new master bath and two closets!  It is awesome.  Our kitchen was too dark so he moved an outdoor wall and made the whole room big and bright.

With Bob, you have to be careful what you wish for because you get much more...Hmmm...Maybe I should think more about what I mention to him!  Need anything fixed, enlarged or updated?  I could mention it to Bob and he would get to work.  My beautiful new updated bathroom WITH a toilet paper holder is proof that Bob can do anything.

Thank you Bob!

Better pictures!

I have a friend who has the ability to make my pictures brighter and completely more interesting.  Thanks Ted!

This one is my favorite!

Stonehenge

If you've seen one picture of Stonehenge you've seen them all.  It doesn't ever change

The day was very windy.

Viewing Stonehenge is very organized.  You park, pay, walk under the road and proceed in an orderly fashion around the rock structure. The people on the left are getting as close as you can get.

Jenn and Leah.  They really look like twins in this picture.

Now we can cross Stonehenge off our list of places and things to see.  It was cool but I wouldn't make a special trip to the United Kingdom to see it!

We went to London to preview the Olympics venue!

Way back in June in Belgium our busy Summer started.  The movers started packing our house on Monday, June 18.  (Since we have already unpacked all our stuff, I can honestly say they were the best movers we have ever had.) By Friday of that week our belongings were on two sea containers and ready to make the journey back to the USA.  We were homeless/in transition/floating/in flux...you get the idea.  There was one thing we really wanted to do.  We wanted to see London one more time and Stonehenge.  There are many different ways to get to the UK from Belgium.  We could take the train, fly or drive.  To drive you have two choices; drive your car over the water by ferry or take your car under the water by train.  We took the train route.
We drove from Brussels to the coast of France and drove our car right onto the train.  It was an odd experience.  We could walk around our car or stay inside it.  The ride under the water by train lasted about 45 minutes and when we drove our car off we were in the UK and driving on the wrong side of the road!
The first part of our little holiday in London was spent at the Olympic village.  We stayed at a brand new hotel built just for the upcoming London Olympics.  The restaurants in the area were excellent and the shopping was fabulous.
Everyone was gearing up for the huge amounts of people who were about to converge on London.  Below is the view we saw from our hotel room.  We really thought that large structure would be where the Olympic flame would rest once the games began.  As we watched the Opening Ceremonies later in the summer, we realized we were wrong.  What was that thing?  Maybe it was just there for show??
While in London we also went to a show.  We saw the musical production Singin in the Rain.  It was absolutely fabulous!  The actors danced in a real rain shower (twice!) and kept us wishing the show would never end.  Of all the live performances we have seen, this one was the very best.
This wasn't our first trip to London but it was probably our last.  We took lots of pictures, ate the best dim sum and rode the Tube.
And after London we drove to Stonehenge about 2 hours away.  I will post pictures tomorrow.

I am BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been the longest break I have ever taken from writing on the blog.  I didn't do it on purpose, but we have been so busy. We moved from Belgium to the USA, traveled to many destinations and got the kids started in a new school year.  Although our lives were filled with many activities, I missed writing and blogging about our adventures.  I truly thought I wouldn't have much to write about, but everyday I think of topics that would be great for the blog. I have also heard from neighbors, relatives and friends near and far saying that they miss the lack of info.

So...dear followers...The Biasi Blog will continue. Even though we don't live in a foreign country I know we will still have lots of adventures.  Here are just a few of the topics I can't wait to share with you:
Bob is working a lot from home.  Oh my!  I may need to get out of the house more!
The twins are now in high school.  Double trouble.
Maria is turning 21. No comment...
We traveled to London and Portugal plus Vegas and the Grand Canyon.  Cool!
My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  The pictures are awesome.

Check back tomorrow to see pictures from London.
