Old and New, Good and Bad, Happy and Sad

Tuesday and Wednesday brought us to completely different locations in Brussels with completely different attitudes. The picture above is of the girls at a flea market. It is the oldest flea market in Brussels and is open every single day. Leah hated it and Jennifer was a little more open to browsing. I think the picture speaks for itself. I loved the place and thought it was eclectic and interesting. On the opposite side of the situation, is the picture below. Today begins the big SOLDEN or SOLDES in Belgium. July 1 is the start of a month of sales and bargains. At no other time during the year, except January, are stores allowed to have big sales. This seems so odd to me, but whatever works is what we will live with. You can see by the smiles below that the twins had fun. Also take a look at all the shoppers in the shoe store. They were all looking for a bargain just like us!
Somewhere in between the shopping for the old and the new, we had time to tour the Church of Our Lady situated on the Grand Sablon in Brussels. The baptismal font was well guarded by pristine white statues and the stained glass was beautiful. It helped that it was a really sunny day!
