Still in Beijing

Our hotel in Beijing was really nice with a breakfast that included rice, noodles, soup and egg rolls...very Chinese. We would soon find out that we would be eating rice morning, noon and night. We didn't mind. It was a great way to start our trip. Our girls were the absolute best travelers. They never ever complained and ate whatever was put in front of them. They were up for any challenge. Having Bob along is such a bonus. He travels so much that he is accustomed to figuring out the local customs and adjusting. His travel sense led us to the best restaurants and the safest surroundings, most of the time. But it is still China and NOTHING like Europe or the US. Check out the armed guards outside of the bank next door to our hotel!
