Garden Time

It's that time of year again!  Our seeds have been planted and we are setting ourselves up for a really nice garden.  We always start our seeds in pots placed in plastic trays.  We cover the trays with plastic wrap to keep the condensation inside and set them on the heated floor in the kitchen.  In a matter of days the seeds have sprouted, the wrap comes off and the trays get transferred to the basement under lights for the next few weeks.  This year we have lots and lots of tomatoes again. We will also have sweet and hot peppers, cucumbers and zucchini.  Lettuce will get planted outside in May and herbs will be bought at the hardware store.  We have tried to grow herbs from seed and haven't had a lot of luck.  The cool thing about our garden is that we actually eat everything we grow.  I just used the last bag of frozen tomatoes last week.  Last year the zucchini did not grow.  I think it was too wet so this year we are developing a little drainage system in the garden.  I hope it works because I love zucchini!

The picture below is of the milk display at my Target store.  I took this picture about 2 weeks ago.  Crazy!!  The stock is a little better now but during this Corona Quarantine we are still limited to how much meat we are allowed to purchase at one time.  The workers at all our local stores are working very hard to keep the shelves filled.  I am mostly using the order online option at Walmart and Kroger to get groceries.

Today the kids ventured out to the store.  They wore masks!  Don't they look excited?  Tomorrow I will post a little about who is at our house during the pandemic.
